The Compensation Data Analyst is responsible for sourcing, compiling and analyzing compensation data from a variety of sources and developing client-ready presentations that will drive decision making.  This position requires a strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to make and communicate comprehensive connections from multiple data sources.  Management will rely upon these insights in order to develop people-centered strategies and solutions that drive positive business outcomes.



  • Receives and completes all system transactions related to HRIS, such as new job setup. Ensures approvals are documented.
  • Receives and completes ad hoc reporting requests from the compensation team, such as earnings history reports.
  • Completes incentive plan analysis, such as analysis of plan performance and spend.
  • Works with HRIS to design reporting queries; pulls queries and prepares reports for stakeholder review and validation.
  • Assists with the administration of the mid-year compensation review and year-end merit and bonus process; facilitates file and data preparation, distribution of files, and file \u201croll up.\u201d
  • Identifies innovative methods for process improvement; improves efficiency of access to compensation information such as pay ranges, job descriptions, and market data.
  • Identifies ways to optimize usage and functionality of current systems (e.g. MarketPay, WTW Data Services, ERI).
  • Refreshes monthly, quarterly, or annual reports completed by the compensation function, such as minimum wage reporting or number of active incentive plans.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for compensation data reporting and analysis. Partners with other experts and business partners to provide and receive consistent, accurate and reliable data.
  • Compiles, analyzes, synthesizes and prepares executive summaries involving compensation data to facilitate data driven decision-making.
  • May assist in the development of training materials for field managers.
  • Completes other projects as assigned.



  • Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a compensation function.
  • CCP preferred.


  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Demonstrated competency with business analytics and experience using BI tools
  • Experience working within HRIS applications; Oracle/PeopleSoft and/or SuccessFactors experience is a plus
  • Exceptional data accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking skills to analyze data and solve problems
  • Process-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to work well both independently and collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team or in a matrixed environment.
  • Well-organized, with the ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage change and transition effectively
