The Clinical Specialist, Spine Navigation primary responsibility is to provide an excellent level of technical support of Medtronic Spine Navigation technologies to operating room personnel. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with spine surgeons, operating room nurses, MDRD and support staff. Provide in-servicing to surgical staff, MDRD and support groups on new and existing technologies. Work collaboratively with local Territory Manager(s) to plan territory coverage and maximize revenue generating activities in the Toronto Downtown GTA territory.

**A Day in the Life.**


+ Conducts on-site education and / or consulting.

+ Supports field personnel in providing the best possible outcomes and service for Medtronic customers.

+ Partners with sales colleagues to develop and execute plans of sales for within one or more business unit(s).

+ Participates in conventions, forums, and meetings to increase product awareness.

+ Works closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Management and Regional Sales team to provide customer case and sales support.

+ Identifies and facilitates execution on growth opportunities with Sales and Clinical Support Team.

+ Serves as a technical resource to support sales of a specific medical product or solution.

+ Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR).

+ Work closely with Territory Manager(s) and Regional Sales Manager to schedule procedure and post-op support.

+ Thoroughly understand surgical application (e.g., Indicated clinical use, device preparation and handling), clinical features, advantages and benefits of RTG technologies.

+ Successful completion of required (and ongoing) product and sales related training curriculum.

+ Compliance with completing Medtronic functional training and education modules.

+ Build and maintain relationships with customers, including clinicians, fellows, residents, nursing staff, OR management, Biomed, CPD, etc.

+ Align with Manager on special projects (e.g., Building customer training programs, conducting market research/analysis, review competitive products and activities, etc.).

+ Work collaboratively with the entire team to help achieve revenue and market share targets.

+ Report all Product Complaints as per Medtronic policy.

+ Maintain, manage and track Loaner and Consignment inventory.


**Must Haves**


+ High School Diploma or GED is acceptable.

+ Minimum 6 years of work experience in the healthcare or engineering field.

+ Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time. Travel will include over-nights and weekends.

+ Must have a valid drivers licence with no restrictions.

+ High level of integrity, ethics and compliance.

+ Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule. Role often involves evenings, weekends and Provincial holidays.

+ Ability to work independently and proactively.

+ Collaborative approach and team oriented.

+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

+ Strong presentation skills.

+ Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.


**Nice to Have**


+ Associates Degree, or; Bachelors degree, or; Bachelors degree and currently enrolled in a certificate program from a pacing school like ATI or PrepMD.

+ Minimum 4 years of work experience in the healthcare or engineering field, if Associates degree.

+ Minimum 2 years of work experience in the healthcare or engineering field, if Bachelors degree.

+ Minimum 3 years of any prior professional experience, if Bachelors degree and currently enrolled in a certificate program.

+ Operating Room Experience.

+ Orthopedic Experience.

+ Knowledge of Anatomy.


**Physical Job Requirements**


+ Frequently required travel to customer clinics, hospitals and offsite meetings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.

+ Frequent 2- handed lifting of up to 40 lbs. from floor to chair/table and from one to another surface at approximately the same level.

+ Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to eight-plus hours per day.

+ Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease and radiation.

+ Ability to wear 7-9 lbs of lead for extended periods of time while in the O.R.

+ Clinical Specialists are required to be within their assigned territory each day to be available as unscheduled needs arise. CSs are required to work a number of weekends and holidays during the quarter, as determined by local management. Weeknight call coverage is the primary responsibility of the Sales Rep, however, at times, business and/or geographical needs require a CS to be scheduled for weeknight coverage as approved by regional management.
