**A Day in the Life**

The Global Product Specialist, Surgical Robotic
Instrumentation, is responsible for driving the Upstream Marketing initiatives for
new instrumentation and accessories as the company enters the $3B surgical
robotics market. As a member of the
global marketing team with the Surgical Robotics business, the individual will
be responsible for facilitating and supporting all the pertinent activities
described below:

**Customer Insight Generation:**

+ Generate actionable customer insights by executing primaryand secondary research, visiting surgeons / customers, participating inadvisory board discussions, attending society meetings and engaging regionalpartners

+ Represent voice of the customer in team discussions to guidetrade-offs and product feature / design decisions

**New Product/Solution Development** :

+ Collaborate with surgical robotics team and Medtronic'sSurgical Innovations functional leaders to advance new product/solutionopportunities from ideation to active product development

+ Represent marketing on cross-functional new productdevelopment teams to define project scope and prioritize / validate customerneeds

+ Lead development of go-to-market strategy, value propositionand key claims

+ Develop and update financials, and ensure team alignmentwith key assumptions

**New Opportunity Assessment** :

+ Evaluate the strategic and financial attractiveness ofgrowth opportunities, including disruptive technologies, minimallyinvasive/robotic surgery solutions and advanced therapies/products to improvepatient outcomes.

+ Conduct in-depth assessment of new markets and emergingtechnologies / therapies to recommend the best entry strategy for Medtronic

+ Develop and present business cases to justify investment inthe new opportunities

**Business Development Assessment:**

+ Collaborate with functional and regional partners (BusinessDevelopment, Regional Marketing, RD, Medical/Clinical/Regulatory Affairs,Finance) to evaluate potential targets

+ Lead market assessment and business case development

+ Ensure team alignment on strategic rationale, commercialstrategy, financial valuation

**Strategic/Financial Analysis** :

+ Collaborate as needed with functional partners to supportstrategic planning and portfolio optimization projects

+ Own market and financial analytics, including market models,financial proforma, project valuation

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 2 years of marketing experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience

**Nice to Have**

+ MBA strongly preferred

+ Medical device product marketing experience, ideally insurgical instrumentation

+ Hands-on experience with complex market and financialanalysis

+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinkingskills

+ Adept at leading, influencing and communicating with diversecross-functional teams

+ Excellent writing, presentation skills; strength in Exceland PowerPoint

+ Self-starter, results driven, competent managing multiplepriorities simultaneously

+ Track record of driving results with strategy developmentand execution

+ Global commercialization/product development experience

Anticipated travel

+ Approximately 30% travel time (domestic international)
