Aspiration is to strengthen and grow the consulting business in EMEA by bringing in world class consulting talent and practices and expanding the set of offerings. Consulting offerings will be the lead-in or door opener for managed services offerings.
Managed Equipment Services division, as one of the Capability of Integrated Health Solutions, has been merged with the Design Construction division creating the Turn-Key department. This new department oversees the Design, Construction, Equipment and Maintenance of hospital clinical department with high complexity.
**A day in the life**
The Managed Equipment Services Engineer will manage all activities related to the Equipment setup, in close coordination and collaboration with the Architects part of the Turn-Key department, of core hospital departments for IHS (CathLabs, ORs, ICUs), including assessment, planning, procurement, installation and ongoing maintenance of capital equipment for these departments, under the managed services model. He/She will collaborate with Medtronic, NGC, customer and stakeholders to manage the end-to-end project to equip and maintain a state-of-the-art hospital department The Engineer will manage all the Equipment projects across all stages of discussion/completion and continue to manage the ongoing maintenance of Labs/ORs in order to ensure hospital departments can provide high-quality clinical care at all times.
Main job duties/responsabilities:
**Collaboration and Support of Sales Team**
Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the healthcare field.
Contribute to sales with the Business Development Manager and consultants.
Manage assignments within the project with overall responsibility
Planning of the medical equipment and calculation of the costs of a specific assignment / project
Collaborate with IHS commercial team as well as hospital stakeholders to produce an optimal equipment plan
Manage projects from equipment point of view for Hospital Solutions accounts, ensuring fulfillment of quality requirements and timelines as dictated in tenders/contracts
**Site Audit, Assessment Planning**
Partner with internal/external architects/engineers for turnkey setup planning and execution.
Conduct Local Market Research on Capital Equipment and gather supplier technical information.
Create a complete asset inventory and/or plan with a review of all existing maintenance arrangements in order to identify potential financial and clinical risks, equipment replacement needs, and opportunities for improvement. Validate or set-up a multiyear maintenance plan and service level agreement.
Develop a comprehensive strategic plan for the safe, productive, and uninterrupted use of the equipment.
**Procurement, Installation and Training**
Manage the procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and training of/for capital equipment necessary for Hospital Solutions accounts EMEA wide.
Prepare and produce generic specs. Pre-qualify suppliers. Sent out RFI and RFQ to suppliers. Review Proposals and Prepare Capital Equipment Proposal Summary Reports.
Manage the equipment and maintenance contract procurement/negotiation for projects
Partner with commercial and tender teams to draft and submit tender bids.
Maintain the smooth installation of the equipment, the technical testing, and the training of clinical staff in order to ensure a fully functional department according to customer contracts by monitoring the OEMs.
Collaborate with the project team, Service Activation, Procurement (PSM) and Clinical Excellence teams.
Contribute with engineering expertise during potential customer visits and discussions
Collaborate and manage relationships with regional sales contacts at all capital equipment vendors to ensure on-time delivery and proper ongoing maintenance of capital equipment
Reporting to client and project stakeholder on maintenance performance and service interventions.
Cost tracking and service contract management. Advice and prepare equipment renewal plan
**Support and Maintenance**
Ensure Labs/ORs uptime through capital equipment maintenance across entire portfolio of the EMEA accounts, overseeing a team working with OEM maintenance, internal maintenance, and internal customer service staff.
Oversee the ongoing maintenance of contracted departments
Negotiate and/or renew maintenance contracts
Supervise Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities along with the relevant reporting
Support the customer on End of Life cycle and strategize for the best outcome
Manage the de-installation process, managing re-marketing or disposal of used equipment.
**Professional Standards**
Provide professionalism and self-motivation to ensure high standards of care are achieved and an optimal service is realized.
**Must haves**
Biomedical Engineering or equivalent technical university degree
Registration of a recognized Professional Board is highly desirable
Certification in Project Management will be an advantage
Min 7+ years of experience in equipment and medical sector (hospital) with experience in capital equipment management and planning
Minimum 5+ years of international experience
Experience in CathLabs (CLs) and Operation Rooms (ORs) is a must
Demonstrated experience managing project design, cost/budget, scope, schedule, and resources
Experience in Turnkey Hospitals is a must
Experience in technology assessing and planning for the diverse hospital departments
Experience or familiarity to the service and maintenance of the equipment
Experience in project management and reporting
Strong knowledge of principles and techniques of carrying out Healthcare Facilities assessments
Willingness to travel mainly in Europe and occasionally in North Africa (30-40%)
