The Principal IAM Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for leading the technology design, development and implementation of identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions for our consumer / external facing business services (CIAM). This high-level role will work across the organization with both business and IT partners as well as external service providers to deliver the IAM Technical capabilities related to enable Medtronic products and services. This position has technical ownership for key security technologies as a part of IAM and is focused on bridging business needs with technology solutions. Solution design and delivery are the primary focus of this position, but also includes responsibility to ensure operational fitness of the system(s).
**A DAY IN THE LIFE**
Provide technical leadership for Identity and Access Management (IAM) platforms
Provide thought leadership and drive technology aspects of solution architecture design, implementation, and operational activities as it relates to consumer identity and access management
Ensure all technical aspects of architecture definition (solution design and analysis work) are documented and stored per enterprise standards
Ensure system security, availability, capacity, and performance strategy for technologies, including ownership for logging, monitoring, and alerting standards, processes, and systems
Ensure operational excellence for related solution through escalation of open issues or recurring problems
Actively support the execution of the Solution Selection Process with enterprise, business solution, and data architects; ensure alignment to enterprise standard solutions and define new solutions to meet business capability needs
Communicate with vendors to understand and research open issues, new versions/changes, and license agreements
Keep abreast of new standards/ protocols related to IAM and how they may impact the consumer IAM program
Partner internally and externally to analyze:
Enterprise business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements
The IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend broad-based solutions for improvement
Technology industry and market trends and determine their potential impact on the enterprise
Establish document technology architecture design principles and standard reference models (standard architecture design supporting future architecture needs).
Own and manage technical, operational, and training documents for system operations and support
Define, document, and manage security or audit requirements and controls for IAM systems
Manage POCs for new capabilities or solutions to determine project requirements or feasibility as needed
Other responsibilities as assigned
**MUST HAVE** (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelors degree
7+ years of experience with a bachelors degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree
**NICE TO HAVE** (Preferred Qualifications)
Previous Medtronic experience
Priority consideration will be given to local applicants
5+ years of experience and strong knowledge of IT Security or Identity Access Management
Strong IAM fundamentals - AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accountability), Identity lifecycle, auditing, and governance
3+ years supporting complex programs or projects, requirements assessment and solutions development
2+ years of business and/or technical consulting experience or equivalent
Advanced degree in Computer Science or business-related discipline
Proven track-record of effective team or program leadership, with the ability to drive solutions through cross-functional and global matrix teams
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing large scale consumer identity solutions
Advanced knowledge and understanding of IT Security and Identity Access Management principles, policies, technical solutions and best practices, such as:
Identity Management, Access Management, Federation, Access Governance, Strong Authentication and Privileged Account / Access Management
Security operations, incident response, and risk management
High degree of learning agility with the ability to readily consume and apply new information and concepts with developed analytical problem-solving / problem management skills
Comfortable working with geographically distributed teams and in a virtual organization
Global experience and orientation
Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
Strong decision-making skills and results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.)
Technology depth and credibility to technical staff
Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Strong communication skills, including communication with employees, clients, upper management, and vendor partners
Experience mentoring, training and coaching less experienced staff
Experience in building, operating, and monitoring mission-critical systems - implementing improvements in availability, performance, reliability, and scalability
Experience deploying automated solutions in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g. Bash, Python, Java)
Developing REST APIs with a good understand of security principles and JWT related standards
CI/CD automation and experience with cloud development on AWS, Azure or GCP
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Familiarity with data privacy regulations and the impact of such for IAM systems
