Medtronics Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) division is looking for a motivated engineer to be part of a high-performing team that is revolutionizing the design and development of medical devices. In this role, you will leverage both your technical breadth and business acumen to accelerate the development, decrease cycle time, reduce cost, and increase product quality for Medtronics device portfolio. The work you do will impact patients globally and help support Medtronics mission of alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life for millions.

This role will represent the electrical system design function in the Product Development Teams to communicate strategy, plans, schedules, progress, and accomplishments. The main tasks will center on HW, FW, mechanical and SW integration. This role includes defining, developing, and delivering complete implantable medical devices to the instruments and interfacing with manufacturing to enable the production of the devices and instruments.

**A Day in the Life**

Lead and contributes to the development of implantable medical devices to the instruments, product concepts and requirements, and manages or oversees the flow and traceability of requirements from product level down to subsystems and allocation to design verification and validation testing

Serve as an organizational spokesman on advanced projects and programs. Acts as advisor to management and internal customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.

Provide recommendations for tools, technologies, processes, and contribute to continuous process improvement

Lead, mentor, and review the designs of less experienced engineers to ensure robustness

Work under general direction with some latitude to determine the technical objectives of assignments

Specify, design, simulate, and verify significant portions (component to system level) of design for implantable medical devices or the instruments in a regulated environment using standard engineering tools and methods

Work closely with cross-functional partners such as Systems Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality, to take a product from ideation to market release

Lead and influence the identification and resolution of intra-project issues

Work with device architects, chips architects, digital designers, analog designers, and firmware designers to integrate and verify a device design in hardware (i.e., printed circuit board, FPGAs) or simulation (i.e., RTL, Verilog, C)

Adhere to and enhances development standards and processes

Participate in technical reviews, lead the review for their own work, and may lead the review for others

**Must Haves**

Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of Electrical Engineering experience OR Advanced Degree and 5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience

**Nice to Have**

Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.

General knowledge of related disciplines.

Proficient in analysis tools such as Spotfire and Spreadsheet

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, simulate, and resolve issues in embedded system designs

Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Matlab, and Labview

Experience using simulation and modeling tools such as Spice, Ansys Designer, Ansys SI Wave

Familiar with cardiac anatomy and physiology
