This position will be part of a team responsible for the successful implementation of SAP planning functionality within Medtronic’s Supply Chain organization. Accountable for all project life cycle phases, with emphasis on translating user requirements into SAP functional specifications for any associated Process, Reporting, Data Conversion, Integration, Enhancements design needs. Position will provide detailed functional knowledge of SAP ECC, SAP APO and other SCM tools used for planning throughout the development process as well as maintain insight to current industry best practices and how they can be applied at Medtronic.

Assume primary responsibility for the successful implementation and configuration of SAP ECC and APO Supply Chain Planning processes within shared IT organization.

Assess the business customer requirements, match these requirements to objectives and guide them to the SAP processes and products including developing specifications and enhancements that will achieve the customers and business goals.

Expected to work independently with end-users and business partners to understand requirements, and design/estimate solutions.

Potentially lead multiple project team members throughout the systems development life cycle, including project definition, requirements gathering, design, development, test, release and delivery for SAP implementations.

Understand and improve multiple planning processes across multiple businesses.

Manage issues associated with project interdependence, resource allocation and management, financial issues and change management across the program portfolio.

Create project plans including timelines and milestones and track progress; inspire teamwork and responsibility across project teams; hold teams accountable to schedules, budgets, and scope.

Learn the Medtronic SDVLC system development life cycle process to ensure this methodology is used in all implementations.

Develops solutions to problems of unusual complexity, which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.

Challenges are frequently unique and solutions may serve as precedent for future decisions.

Develop, review and approve technical/functional specifications.

Facilitate unit testing and integration testing of developed components.

Assist in implementing technical and process best practices.

Develop and maintain a broad theoretical understanding of current hardware and software technologies.

Market and communicate program vision to project teams, key business stakeholders, and executive leadership.

Ensure continued business sponsorship, engagement and commitment.

Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team, in support of issue and risk resolutions.

Partners with deployment leadership to communicate areas of change.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


GED/High School Graduate


15+ years of IT experience with a GED/High School Graduate

11+ years of IT experience with Associate Degree

7+ years of IT experience with a Bachelors Degree

5+ years of IT experience with a Masters Degree


Minimum of 4 full lifecycle SAP rollouts.

Experience leading implementations of Advanced Planning Solutions like SAP APO.

Configuration experience with SAP APO Production PP/DS module.

Configuration experience with SAP ECC PP module (ECC MRP).

**Nice to Have:**

Bachelor’s Degree

Functional and configuration experience with the following SAP modules:






Business or systems experience within the following areas; planning, manufacturing, distribution, inventory management, sales (Supply Chain)

Demonstrated skills in leading implementation of supply chain planning systems

Functional and configuration experience with SAP ECC PP. Including MPS and MRP

Functional and configuration experience with SAP APO PP/DS for production planning. Including PP/DS heuristics and PP/DS Optimizer.

Experience configuring the SAP’s Core Interface (CIF) between ECC and APO.

Experience setting up master data in SAP ECC needed for production planning, including BOMs, Routings, Work Centers and Production Versions.

Ability to troubleshoot issues in SAP and manage interactions with SAP support including researching and recommending OSS notes and creating and following up on Incidents with SAP

Experience creating process chains for scheduling of planning jobs in APO

Creating functional specifications and testing enhancements in ECC, CIF and APO

Creating functional specifications and testing reports in SAP BW or APO BW

Strong decision-making abilities and problem resolution skills

Strong relationship building and negotiation skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly client quality oriented

Ability to manage customer expectations, communicate issues status

Track record of delivering on commitments (high quality, on budget, on time) during projects

Experience providing training to end-users

Advanced degree in Computer Science or business-related discipline

Business Analysis Certification

Six Sigma Green belt or Black belt certification

APICS certification

Solid understanding of supply chain principles

Goal oriented, task driven decision-making with a strong sense of accountability.

Focused on improving productivity, profitability and business processes; delivering solutions on time and within budget.

Excellent leadership and team work skills

Strong interpersonal, oral, presentation, and written communication skills

Ability to understand end-audience needs and requirements

Strong understanding of business processes and vocabulary

Ability to clearly write requirements definitions and design specifications
