Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure (CRHF) offers
devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac
diagnostic and monitoring solutions.


Today the CareLink network is the leading remote monitoring
system, with 99.9% of Medtronic devices compatible with the network.Remote monitoring allows Patients to stay connected to
their doctor via the Medtronic CareLink network. The CareLink network gives
patients an opportunity to collaborate with Cardiac Physicians on their care
and well-being. This collaboration provides Cardiac Physicians access to
critical diagnostics to manage worsening heart conditions.


As a Principal Software Engineer within the CRHF
Software organization, you will have the opportunity to work on this remote
monitoring system. You will be involved
in developing software supporting Medtronic implantable cardiac devices and will
operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development
process.


Medtronic CRHF Application Development team
develops the next generation medical technologies that save lives, improve
quality of living for millions of patients across the world. The CRHF
Software team is one of the most cutting edge teams within Medtronic, working
with various software technologies in application software, network software,
mobile software, BT/BLE communication software, and interfacing with embedded
software for management and control of implantable medical devices. The
CRHF Software team is looking for a proactive, self-starting, strong software
development engineer to build the next generation of CRHF software.


**A Day in the Life**


In general, the following responsibilities apply:


+ Demonstrateownership of software feature/module and drive development of thefeature/module through SDLC.

+ Providehands-on leadership, coaching, mentoring, and software engineering bestpractices to junior software engineers.

+ Collaborateon the design with other team members and product owners, both inside andoutside of the team.

+ Contributeand apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts to solvecomplex technical problems.


For development engineers, the following
responsibilities apply:


+ Design,implement, test, debug and document integration solutions and enhanceexisting components to ensure that software meets the business needs,while in compliance with applicable regulations and processes.

+ Conductdesign and code reviews to ensure code developed meets or exceeds codingbest practices guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability andmaintainability guidelines.

+ Contributeto the design and architecture to enable secure, scalable, andmaintainable software and clearly articulate the implications of design/architecturaldecisions, issues and plans to technology leadership.

+ Developreusable patterns and encourage innovation that will increase teamvelocity.


For test engineers, the following
responsibilities apply:


+ Workclosely with developers and Systems Engineers to understand the specificsof the Application, Mobile device operating platform on which theApplication would run and due considerations

+ Takethe high level requirements and independently complete test developmentper the defined processes.

+ Designand execute project test plans and strategies.

+ Designand execute tests using automated test tools, as well as Manual testdevelopment process, for the verification of software requirements.

+ Supporttest infrastructure set up and test tool development; such as test tools,stubs, Hardware/Firmware simulators and emulators.

+ Establishand maintain traceability from software requirements to verification testdesign and implementation.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree in Engineering/Sciences required

+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience


**Specialized Knowledge Required**


+ Strongknowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices

+ Strongverbal and written communication skills

+ Experiencewith configuration management tools

+ Excellentproblem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills.

+ Proficiencywith two or more of the following programming languages: Angular, C, C++,Java, Java Script, HTML, VBScript, C#, .NET, Perl, Python, Objective C

+ Familiarityand understanding of one or more of the following tools: Visual Studio,Microsoft TFS, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Test Manager, Test Hub, Web basedapplications, Visual Source Safe, and Requisite Pro

+ Familiaritywith both Agile and Waterfall software development methods

+ Familiarityand understanding of one or more of the following operating systems:Windows, Android and IOS

+ Proficiencyworking in a team environment

+ Experiencein mobile software development, e.g. iOS, Android
