The Medtronic Team Lead in Plymouth is responsible for driving day to day execution of production requirements ensuring quality product is made, process is followed, and work is performed in a safe and effective manner.


•Serve as first point of contact for operators assisting them with questions, concerns, ideas for improvement, time off requests, safety or quality concerns, etc.

•Execute weekly build plans prioritizing builds appropriately

•Solid understanding of department performance goals including: Quality, Cost, Delivery, Quality/ Compliance and Safety. Identify and act on roadblocks that may prevent us from achieving performance goals.

•Address day to day production issues; including staffing needs, component availability, equipment status, and use sound judgment in deciding when and how to resolve them.

•Assist Engineers with new procedures and testing and to initiate ECO process.

•Assist in audit processes and documentation. Initiate NCMR/ECO’s when required.

•Manage day to day employee timekeeping; entering occurrences in alignment with company policy; escalate to supervisor any trends or lead indicators of issues/ concerns.

•Monitor the quality and time standards of the product including tracking hour by hour metrics.

•Review raw component inventory levels in order to proactively avoid line down situations

•Provide daily status reports on schedule adherence/yields/material issues/mechanical failures/unplanned down time, and training

•Review line flow and rebalance line as needed to minimize bottlenecks

•Approve/ coordinate PTO requests from operators, review time cards, keep attendance records and assist in providing feedback for performance reviews.

•With the assistance or guidance of others, execute cross training plans.

•Ensure all compliance wire training for area is up to date and not past due.

•Track, communicate, and execute payout of line incentives.

•Conduct time studies of operations

•Assist in ensuring all equipment on line is appropriately calibrated. Assist in finding equipment needed for calibration.

•Perform basic RCA under the guidance and direction of supervisors or engineers.

•Flexibility to work in and support various areas across the plant.

•Execute Lean tools (5S/SW)

•Perform job function according to all Medtonic required regulatory standards (GMP/ISO)

•Follow all related procedures and policies

•Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws/standards, the Code of Conduct

•Other duties as assigned or required


•High School diploma or equivalent required

•3+ years medical assembly experience required

•Experience working in a regulated work environment required (ISO/Medical Manufacturing, etc.)

•Good computer skills


•Leadership experience preferred

•Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment preferred

•Medical manufacturing experience desirable

•Ability to work in a culturally diverse work population

•Good written and verbal communication skills (English)

•Strong sense of urgency

•Willing and able to work overtime as required

•Basic understanding of labor and material variances.
