We are looking for a highly motivated person with strong leadership and analytical skills to join our team. The position involves the management of an RD group responsible for identifying and establishing feasibility of sensor technology to be applied to our glucose sensing product pipeline. A successful candidate will have management experience (people or program) and will be able to demonstrate a systems level approach to problem solving. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in implantable medical devices and working knowledge of microfabricated technologies.


The Diabetes Group is working with the global community to change the way people manage diabetes. Together, we will transform diabetes care by expanding access, integrating care, and improving outcomes; so people with diabetes can enjoy greater freedom and better health.

**A Day in the Life**

•Manage a technical team with focus on developing sensor systems and sub-systems. Establish a structure for this team that addresses organizational needs

•Lead research and development projects through from conceptualization to establishing feasibility. Conduct frequent reviews to ensure appropriate data-driven decision making is taking place

•Collaborate closely with other managers and project leads and ensure alignment with the needs of the sensor pipeline

•Actively search for best-in-class technologies and develop innovation roadmap, establishing and leveraging strategic partnerships where appropriate

•Participate in meetings and share technical information as well as "best-practices” across the Sensor RD organization

•Develop individuals assigned to the team, promote engagement and ensure job satisfaction of individual team members

**Must Have:**

•5+ years of industry experience with a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant scientific discipline, OR

•3+ years of industry experience with advanced degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant scientific discipline

•Industry experience in program management or people management (non-academia experience)

•Experience with sensor technology, microfabrication or other implantable medical devices

**Nice to Have**

•Direct people management experience

•Experience in a regulated industry and exposure to regulatory submissions

•Experience interacting with a multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team

•Direct experience developing or researching sensing technology and/or other implantable medical devices

•Demonstrated ability to work and lead within a team-based project environment

•Ability to effectively communicate technical information through presentation and through the preparation of technical documentation and/or manuscripts

•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals
