Located in Boulder, CO or North Haven, CT, this role will report to the Director, Finance for Contract Manufacturing and will provide support to Operations leaders within Medtronics Robotics Assisted Surgery platform. The role will provide timely and accurate analysis on performance versus budget/forecast on capital, inventory, expense, and spending with various suppliers. The analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a key role in analyzing product cost and to drive savings opportunities.
Robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) has been identified as an emerging medical technology with the potential to help standardize surgical procedures and enable minimally invasive surgery (MIS).
Our goal is to use innovation to help standardize procedures and improve patient outcomes, says Megan Rosengarten, President, Surgical Robotics for the Medtronic Minimally Invasive Therapies Group. Its not about adding technology because we can, its about using technology to create better clinical and economic options for hospitals, surgeons, and patients.
**A Day in the Life**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Assist in preparing and issuing a consolidation of monthly performance metrics on supplier spending, project savings, capital, and inventory.
Assist in quarterly forecast, annual budgeting processes, and long-term planning (Strategic Planning).
Assist in analyzing various product cost drivers (labor, overhead, materials, volume) to support savings initiatives and to ensure commitments are meeting timelines and objectives.
Consult with cross-functional teams to formulate analytics used in vendor selection, make/buy decisions, etc.
Collaborate with others to evaluate and prioritize capital investments.
Review, analyze and reconcile inventory balances with Suppliers.
Support month-end close, and prepare journal entries and reconciliations as needed.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of monthly data entered in multiple systems (SAP, Hyperion, etc.)
Assist in preparing presentations and summaries that help Operations executives understand performance and risks/opportunities.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 2+ years)
**Nice to Have**
FPA, budgeting, forecasting, and/or cost analysis experience
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint required. Experience in Hyperion, Essbase, and SAP is a plus
Strong business acumen with ability to understand both financial and operations metrics
Ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities
Action oriented and the desire to improve processes and drive change
Excellent teamwork skills and effective with all levels of management
High level of intellectual curiosity, integrity and accountability
Experience supporting manufacturing operations; familiar with standard cost
Solid FPA and basic Accounting knowledge
Strong communication skills, and aptitude for influencing at all levels
Adaptability and responsiveness to multiple changing business priorities
Works independently without direct supervision
Familiar with business case analysis, modelling, and/or scenario planning
Familiar with Make vs Buy Analysis
Understanding of inventory movement across the supply chain
Drive to deliver financial and non-financial results
Strong organization skills
High degree of initiative and self-motivation
Desire to learn and to develop for future opportunities and job growth
