The **Senior Social Media Specialist** develops, optimizes and manages paid social media campaigns to maximize impact and effectiveness. This position is within the Consumer Marketing team and will report directly to the Global Director of Digital for Medtronic Diabetes. The Senior Social Media Specialist should possess a deep understanding of social media channels including deployment of platforms, tools, applications necessary to measure performance and adjusting programs to meet business objectives.

This role is based in Northridge, CA.


**A Day in the Life**


+ Create comprehensive integrated social media campaigns.

+ Identify ways to maximize and leverage social advertising in advertising, media relations, digital, direct, experiential and other forms of marketing

+ Collaborate with team members and outside agencies to implement campaigns

+ Utilize appropriate analytics and tracking services to monitor and optimize performance, including brand affinity and lead generation.

+ Increase the social media advertising acumen of leadership and staff by developing and implementing training curriculum

+ Provide regular reports and updates on emerging trends for staff and departments

+ Identify new/emerging social platforms that serve the goals of the organization

+ Assists in developing and managing annual social advertising budget, authorizes expenditures and tracks project costs to control expenses


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in directly managing digital initiatives, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience


**Nice to Have**


+ Experience in weaving digital into traditional/omnichannel marketing programs

+ Experience in strategic program planning and implementation. In-depth knowledge of digital trends and emerging platforms and ability/knowledge to stay ahead of the curve

+ Experience in planning marketing strategies and initiatives in conjunction with overall organizational strategies and objectives

+ Ability to motivate teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manages several services projects

+ Experience with marketing automation, CRM, and advertising applications

+ Strong grasp of various analytics platforms, with the ability to source and summarize applicable data

+ Experienced in a fast-paced environment

+ Team player with a positive attitude and ability to work cross-functionally in a large matrix organization
