Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure offers devices and therapies to
treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring
solutions.


Medtronic CRHF Software teams are engaged in developing the next
generation medical technologies that save lives and improves the quality of
living for millions of patients across the world. The CRHF Software teams
are the most cutting-edge teams within Medtronic, working with various software
technologies in application software, network software, mobile software, BT/BLE
communication software, and embedded software for management and control of
implantable medical devices. The CRHF Software team is looking for a
proactive, self-starting, strong Software Engineer to build and test the next
generation of medical instrument software.


As a Senior Software Engineer in the Cardiac Rhythm and Heart
Failure (CRHF) RD Software Organization, the individual will operate in
all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development and verification
process.


**A Day in the Life**


In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior
Software Engineer role:


+ Design, Develop and test software for class IIand III medical devices.

+ Learn and understand software standards forMedical devices, ex. IEC62304.

+ Define, maintain and implement softwarerequirements and designs and review software developed by other teammembers.

+ Build prototypes, frameworks, development kitsand accelerator systems suitable for engineering evaluations and testing.

+ Contributes and applies advanced technicalprinciples, theories, and concepts to solve complex technical problems.

+ Participate in process improvement initiativesfor the software team. This includes recognizing areas for improvement aswell as working with others to develop and document process improvements.

+ Conduct and/or participate in technicalreviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and otherengineering artifacts, ensuring timely delivery to meet programcommitments.

+ Design, develop, maintain and execute testsincluding unit and integration testing and create and maintaindocumentation generated from testing.

+ Provide hands-on leadership, coaching,mentoring, and software engineering best practices to junior softwareengineers.

+ Develop reusable patterns and encourageinnovation that will increase team velocity.

+ Maintain, improve and design new softwaretools. These tools use either scripting languages (Perl, Python),programming languages (Java, C, C#), or web technology (HTML5,JavaScript).

+ Work under general direction andcollaboratively with internal and external partners

**MustHave: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors or Masters degree in SoftwareEngineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technicalfield.

+ 4+ years of software development experiencewith a Bachelors degree, 2+ years of software development experience witha Masters degree.


**Specialized Knowledge Required**


+ Strong knowledge of software design,development, debug and test practices

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Experience with configuration management andissue tracking tools

+ Proficiency with two or more of the followingprogramming languages: C, C++, Java, Java Script, HTML, VBScript, C#,.NET, Perl, Python, Objective C

+ Familiarity with Agile and Dev-Ops softwaredevelopment and test methods and tools

+ Familiarity and understanding of EmbeddedSoftware Development and/or mobile application development on Android/iOSoperating systems


**Nice to Have**


+ 6+ year of Software Development/Testingexperience

+ Proficiency working in a team environment

+ Strong Leadership skills and mentoringcapabilities

+ Experience in mobile software developmentenvironments, ex. iOS, Android and/or Embedded Software

+ Experience in Microsoft Visual Studiodevelopment platforms/tools, Microsoft TFS, Microsoft Azure

+ Experience working within a regulatedenvironment.

+ Quality focus, willingness to learn,versatility and adaptability
