Medtronics Robotic Assisted Surgery platform through commercial launch and production
scale-up.

Minimally Invasive Therapies Group strives to enable earlier diagnosis, better

SURGICAL
INNOVATIONS set the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating
innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases
and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic
region, and the head and neck.


**A Dayin the Life**


This position is in the Boston, MA Seaport District; as Software Project Manager -Offshore Liaison you will
focus on managing a team of off-shore software engineers at the Medtronic
Engineering and Innovation Center (MEIC), ensuring they are aligned with the
on-shore team in Boston to keep both teams performing at a high level.


**You will:**


+ Work closely with the off-shore team to understand their skills, needs, and challenges

+ Work closely with the on-shore team to understand the software development goals and milestones

+ Build an understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented in both software development organizations.

+ Implement policies, meetings and plans to keep the times aligned and unblocked.

+ Dig into technical challenges to help both teams succeed.

+ Live in Boston, but travel to Hyderabad as needed.


**Must haves: Minimum requirements:**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience


**Nice to haves:**


+ **Experience working with or at MEIC.**

+ **A Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience.**

+ **Experience leading small software development teams.**

+ Experience working with geographically distributed software teams.

+ General understanding of software technology for logging, networking, controls, and user interfaces.

+ General understanding of COTS/SOUP implications when using off the shelf operating systems, middleware, and networking protocols.

+ Strong organization and communication skills.

+ Understanding of risk management of embedded software ideally using SW FMEA techniques.

+ Understanding of multiprocessor medical devices.

+ Good C/C++ skills.

+ Good understanding of 62304 and regulated will defined SDLC.

+ Experience in FDA regulated software delivery.


**Working Conditions:**


Standard
Office setting in South Boston.Some international
travel is required.
