**The Sr. Director, IT Strategy Planning** will oversee the development, evolution, and implementation of the IT strategy, business enterprise-level technology roadmaps, oversight across IT responsibilities supporting enterprise MA, and related critical processes to ensure continual alignment of the IT Strategy and Operating Model with the attainment of short and long-term business results. This position is a member of the Global IT Extended Leadership Team and reports to the Vice President of IT Management Operations.


Role can be located anywhere in the US


**This role will be responsible for the following key processes and activities:**


+ Building and enhancing the IT Strategy


+ Annually reviewing and refreshing the IT Strategy

+ Verifying IT operating processes outcomes reflect ITs strategic direction

+ Manage key elements of and deliver artifacts supporting the annual Strat Plan and AOP processes


+ Shaping and adjusting the Operating Model


+ Facilitating conversations with the CIO and ITLT to consistently verify IT Strategy is supported in how IT functions and is structured to deliver services to stakeholders (Operating Model)

+ Monitoring, recommending, and overseeing Operating Model design, changes, measures / outcomes, and opportunities for improvement to ITs day-to-day operating practices


+ Creating and refreshing roadmaps


+ Identifying where IT Strategy impacts IT processes, organizational structures and portfolio

+ Understanding the change management required to achieve IT Strategy goals

+ Developing target milestones and measures to attain strategic objectives; reviewing and revising them as the strategy evolves and/or business conditions change


+ Planning MAD (mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures) framework execution model


+ Establishing and refining core MAD process framework services definition

+ Overseeing monitoring end-to-end process from initial MAD identification to full integration or separation

+ Continuously improving MAD processes to drive execution speed to business value


+ Developing fostering strategic third-party relationships


+ Establishing, growing maintaining relationships across strategic vendors and partnerships (target the top 20 vendors supporting Global IT)

+ Manage inventory of all IT technology vendor relationships assess vendor performance in meeting partnership objectives commitments;

+ Partner with Sourcing and Procurement to continually ensure best practices for Medtronic are deployed

+ Achieve strategic partner-driven target savings and cost management goals

+ Lead key processes supporting strategic partner / vendor impact assessment and change management counsel when major relationships change (e.g., contract renewals/ cancellations, vendor changes, operating model changes)

+ Integrate infuse key strategy innovation needs into strategic partner structure relationships (e.g., resources supporting co-innovation or co-development activities)


+ Linking to Annual Strat Plan and AOP


+ Partner with IT Finance Communications to execute and manage deliverables supporting the annual Strat Plan AOP processes

+ Identifies, initiates, establishes and develops long term strategic relationships and alliances with key organizational stakeholders external partners

+ Serves as principal spokesperson for the Strategy Planning functional area; makes recommendations to leadership regarding strategy direction

+ Influences across functions and businesses to negotiate and gain cooperation on divergent objectives


**Leadership Talent Management**


+ Directs and controls the Strategy Planning function that includes multiple teams led by directors and/or senior managers

+ Determines organizational structure and develops talent strategies

+ Develops management team to support strategic objectives

+ Authorizes employment and reward decisions within own area


**Knowledge Experience**


+ Exhibits advanced management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project teams and ability to manage across multiple functions

+ Has achieved mastery within strategy, architecture, and strategic vendor partnerships


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 15 years ofIT experience with 10+ years of managerial experience , or Advanced Degree with a minimum 13 years priorIT experience, minimum of 10 years of managerial experience


**Preferred qualifications**


+ IT strategy experience in a large international organization
