As the Sr. Manager of Software Architecture and
Technology, you will be reporting to the Director of the Cardiac Rhythm and
Heart Failure (CRHF) Product Experience and Architecture organization. You will lead the team providing technical and
architectural leadership for software across CRHF. In this role you will ensure
each project has the proper technical engagement to provide guidance early and
often in the development process to ensure optimal delivery. You will ensure
proper technical reviews of projects at each phase gate. You will drive the
technical governance across the organization to ensure each release is technically
whole and the overall state of software is continually improving. You will do
this in the context of teams developing platforms and delivering applications built
on them, using the latest technology and development practices in a regulated
environment. These platforms and applications are the software basis of
Medtronics offerings that service over 1.6M patients in 80 geographies.


**A Day in the Life:**


+ Work with coreteam and project leads to ensure projects have the right technical representationand influence at each phase of delivery

+ Ensure appropriateproject reviews and follow through for projects at each phase of delivery

+ Drivetechnical governance across software to optimize the value and quality ofsoftware assets

+ Establishand maintain feedback loops to ascertain and constantly improve current state.

+ Buildtechnical community within CRHF and across Medtronic

+ Providestrategic advices to senior business leaders

+ Providesthought leadership in and outside of Medtronic

+ Attractstop talent from external sources

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelor degree inComputer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field

+ Minimum of 7 years ofrelevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanceddegree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years ofmanagerial experience


**Nice to Have:**


+ Ability to lead, teach,coach, and mentor technical staff

+ Strong communicationskills across diverse audiences

+ Excellent attitude and aptitudewith demonstrated strategic mindset that can drive change

+ 5+ years of leading technicalgovernance

+ 10+ years in softwaredevelopment of complex distributed systems

+ 10+ years in technical leadershiproles (e.g. Architect)

+ 7+ Experience inenterprise class applications

+ Experience developingsoftware platforms and building technical communities

+ Experience in modernapplication development practices (Lean, Agile, DevOps)

+ Experience in modern technologies(e.g. AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Java, C#, Python)

+ Experience working with applicationdevelopment in the healthcare domains of an FDA regulated environment.

+ Experience with clinical domainsystems and standards (e.g. Epic, HL7)
