In this role as **Senior Program Manager** , you will have responsibility for managing the multi-faceted relationships (within the Operating Unit [OU] and Enterprise-wide) and program/ project interfaces for the Regulatory Affairs and Technical Communications (RATC) enabling functions within the Innovation Pillar for the Medtronic Diabetes OU.

In this role, you will expand the organizations reach through RATC programs and initiatives with a sizable impact on reducing cost, increasing efficiency and developing strategy for the product portfolio. You will contribute to the development and leadership of a best-in-class Program Management Office (PMO) competency across the two functions. Your focus will be on project management and process improvement methodologies includes PMO, Six Sigma/ Lean, strategic decision-making within RATC and extended by influence to the Innovation Pillar core teams, in a matrixed leadership organization.

**A Day in the Life**

+ Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for key business processes.

+ Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between the Innovation Pillar PMO, Enterprise level organizations and RATC management.

+ In consultation with RATC Operations, reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

+ Monitors RATC projects from initiation through delivery.

+ Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

+ Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Bachelors degree required

+ Minimum of 7 years of program/ project management process improvement, and/ or regulatory, labeling, multimediaexperience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 yearsprogram/ project management process improvement, and/ or regulatory, labeling, multimediaexperience

**Nice to Have**

+ Recognized expert, managing and developing structures for medium to large scale projects and/ or processes.

+ Exercises considerable latitude in determining deliverables of assignments, with limited oversight from manager.

+ Coaches, reviews and delegates the work of project management and process improvement teams.

+ Focuses on enhancement of patient experience through work efforts.

+ Contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards or operational plans based on business strategy with a significant impact on work group results.

+ Develops new policies and procedures that affect program management.

+ Employs innovation to address complex and at times undefined problems. Includes the use of project management software and technology.

+ Requires detailed information gathering, analysis and investigative skills.

+ Develops solutions to complex problems, and/ or makes significant improvements of processes, systems or products independently to enhance performance of job area.

+ Subject matter expertise in leading and executing program management and process improvement within a matrixed hierarchy.

+ Provides in-depth analysis and recommendations on process improvements.

+ Negotiates with others to reach understanding or agreement, and influence decision-making.

+ Manages effectively senior internal and external customer and supplier relationships.

+ Formulates and executes PMO and process improvement structures such as KPIs, SLAs, scheduling and resourcing tools, budgeting and forecasting.

+ Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

+ Familiarity with Six Sigma/ Lean methodology.

+ Requires mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
