In this exciting role as a Senior Software Engineer, you
will help develop high quality firmware and software for medical devices at
Medtronic. You will be a member of the
Global Software Team in RD, designing firmware and software for
Medtronics Patient Monitoring division. You will be on an Agile product
development team.

**RESPIRATORY, GASTROINTESTINAL INFORMATICS (RGI)** offers
a complete line of solutions that spans the continuum of care. We help with early detection and treatment of
diseases, and reduce complications to accelerate recovery from patient
conditions. We focus on expanding global access to our therapies that improve
clinical outcomes for gastrointestinal diseases and cancer, and patients with
respiratory compromise.


**A Day in the Life**


The Senior Software Engineer responsibilities include:


+ Designs, develops, tests, documents, operatesand maintains softwareand firmware components andcomputing systems software to be applied to and integrated withmechanical and electrical systems.


+ Applies the appropriate standards, processes,procedures and toolsthroughout the system developmentlife cycle to support the generation of such engineeringapplications and wide range of products.


+ Interfaces with customers, suppliers,application users and other technical and support personnel.


+ Work in Agile teams using Agile methodologyrunning Sprints, Scrums, etc.


**Responsibilities Include:**


+ Provideleadership in all phases of firmware design and development of innovativeproducts through technical planning, execution, test and evaluation.

+ Hands onfirmware development as well as strong hardware design, hardware bring up anddebug knowledge.

+ Hands on inthe lab and design or debug of electronic circuits/boards

+ Lead NewProduct Development through all phase of the Software Development Life Cycle(SDLC)

+ Supportsustaining and released product engineering work like End-of-life electronicpart replacement or board replacement design, development and troubleshooting

+ Ensure thatproducts meet all FDA and international requirements for medical products

+ Resolvecustomer issues through troubleshooting and experiments

+ Work withtest engineers to design and/or drive testing methods and to assure productsmeet requirements for performance and safety

+ Supportregression analysis with the associated required documentation


**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**


+ Bachelors Degree in Software or Electrical or Computerengineering or related science discipline and minimum of 4 years relevantexperience (or advanced degree in Engineering / Science discipline noted abovewith a minimum of 2 years relevant experience).

**Nice to Have**


+ Minimum 4 years of Firmware/ Embedded Software development experience using these Skills, Languages,Tools, Platforms Methodologies.


+ C/C++ expertise within embedded programming framework anddevelopment environment

+ SW Design andArchitecture with focus on Embedded Design

+ Modern MCU Concepts, MCUPeripherals, HW/SW Interfaces

+ Real-Time EmbeddedProgramming vs. Application Programing

+ RTOS Concepts anddesigning with RTOS or bare-metal

+ Object Oriented Programmingconcepts and experience


+ Good understanding of design controls and regulatory compliance.

+ Experience with technical documentation in a regulated industry


+ Prior work in a regulated environment and medical devicedevelopment experience following development standards and processes

+ Clear Understanding of regulatory requirementswith Regulatory Affairs partners, regulatory strategy, product intent andlaunch strategy

+ Self-starter with strong work ethic andinitiative in accomplishing objectives

+ Familiarity with Agile methodology VersionControl

+ Understands DSP, Digital and Analog HW/SWconcepts

+ Ability to read and understand electronicschematics and datasheets
