In this exciting role as a Development Technician IV, you will be part of the Polymer Development team at Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN.This on-site position will have the responsibility of supporting Injection Molding activities related to new process development for medical devices. MECC manufactures components for implantable medical devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators.

**A Day in the Life**

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.

+ Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.

+ Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

+ Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

+ Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.

+ Injection molding press setup

+ Mold setup, inspection, maintenance and basic repairs

+ Supporting engineers to perform Design of Experiments (DOEs) and window studies to support optimization of injection molding process over different operating conditions in support of process characterization

+ Documenting and reporting observations

+ Collaboration with Engineering, Tooling, Quality and Factory personnel

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**

+ Minimum of 8years of experience in injection molding

+ Must have a High School Diploma

**Nice to Have**

+ Technical Degree

+ Master Molder 1/2

+ Experience in manufacturing and/or development environments

+ Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed **time management**

+ Strong hands-on injection molding processing and troubleshooting abilities

+ Ability to understand materials and processes, problem sources and the correction preferred

+ Ability to learn about and remember key information about parts molded in the department.

+ Detail oriented.

+ Good manual dexterity and the ability to perform manual tasks requiring some fine motor skills.

+ Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

+ Following written instructions For example Design of Experiments (DOEs)

+ Good documentation practices able to clearly communicate work performed in written format.
