These are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions that are 1-year long (June 7, 2021 June 3, 2022), with educational and social events throughout the summer. The intern will report to senior staff.


**A Day in the Life**


Depending on your experience and background, the intern can focus on one of the two options listed below during the 1-year long internship program.

**Job Description**


+ Visualize and create functional,compelling on-screen user interface (UI) and interaction design concepts witha clear focus on intuitive ease-of-use for insulin delivery, smartphoneapplications, and online service applications related to the diabetes market.

+ Prototype with low- andhigh-fidelity tools, illustrating concepts for usability research with strongcoordination with cross-functional team members. Adobe XD experience a plus!

+ Advocatefor the end-user of our products.

+ Collaborate with UX/UI Design,Industrial Design, Human Factors Engineers, Marketing, Engineering, Clinical,Regulatory and Quality Assurance departments to ensure that products are highvalue and high quality.

+ Demonstrate strong productmanagement skillscoordinatingthe requirements from Human Factors, Industrial Design, User Interface Designand project team.

+ Documentand communicate design deliverables using appropriate media such as variousAdobe programs (XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.


**Basic Qualifications**


+ Workingtoward a Bachelors or Graduate degree in UI/UX Design

+ Experiencecreating screen flows using Adobe Creative Cloud and prototyping tools, suchas Adobe XD.

+ Experience in user research.

+ Experience taking input from multiple sources for synthesizingit into coherent design solutions.

+ Portfolio ofwork experience demonstrating advanced knowledge of fundamental designprinciples. Please provide as a pdf attachment.


**Job Description**

+ Create product illustrations andlow to high fidelity prototypes for usability research.

+ Documentand communicate design deliverables using appropriate media such ashand/digital sketches, SolidWorks, various Adobe programs (Illustrator,Photoshop, etc.), KeyShot, and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.


**Basic Qualifications**


+ Working toward a Bachelors or Graduate degree inIndustrial/Product Design.

+ 3+ years of experience in conceptualizing Industrial Designconcepts in SolidWorks.

+ Experience in digital sketching and 3D rendering software

+ Experience developing raster and vector-based graphics usingAdobe products.

+ Experience in user research.

+ Experience taking input from multiple sources for synthesizingit into coherent design solutions.

+ Portfolio of work experience demonstratingadvanced knowledge of fundamental design principles.Please provide as a pdf attachment.

+ Solidunderstanding of actual and future design challenges (technologies and uses)


+ Ability to researcheffective balance between business, marketing, and technical requirements whileadvocating for the end-user


+ Ability toperform competitive benchmarking analysis / comparative analysis


+ Ability toinvestigate and contribute to new processes and design tools that will advanceour visual design core competency


+ Knowledge oftask flow analysis / tree structure and functionalities hierarchy / informationarchitecture / story boarding andwire framing


+ Familiarity withbest practices in usability and user experience


+ Ability tocreate, follow or interpret design guidelines and principles for multipleplatforms


+ Keen eye forsubtle details on deliverables / look-and-feel specifications / pixel-perfectassets


+ Ability tomanage multiple projects with efficiency, flexibility and diplomacy to meetdeadlines
